Elgregeo - Magician and Values

Elgregeo was a show about being a Superhero and having a Bully Free Zone at dairy Flat School. He also did some cool magic tricks! 
LZ4 Room 6 made a wall display. 
We also drew,coloured and dyed pictures of the show. We told our teacher what the picture was about! 

Learning to Write

Neeve has found one of  the sounds we heard in a word.

 We wrote a sentence about the crane today. 
We used some photos of what we had seen to plan our sentence. 

We started with a capital letter. 

Leni has found one of the spaces we put between  words.

We listened for the first sounds in words and Miss Forbes wrote them with help from Casey      Caterpillar. 

We remembered that the 'a' sound is written using an open mouth and a short stick.                                                             We made sure we had spaces between our words and finished with a full stop.

Aaliyah has found the capital letter at the beginning of
our sentence.

We checked we had remembered to use all the things we need to make a sentence and that our sentence matched our illustration and plan.

Kelwyn has found the full stop at the end of our sentence.

First Day Fun

1st February 2017

Today we were hoping to have a swim before going home but the pool had turned green and yucky! Mr Hardy said it should be better by tomorrow! 

Instead of swimming we decided to have a bit of learning and fun outside in our togs! 

We were learning that our beautiful plants need water to keep growing! 

We were also strengthening our muscles in our hands and fingers by using spray bottles and squeezy bottles!

Balloonatics!

Balloons at Dairy Flat

Balloonatics kindly donated about 600 balloons to our Junior rooms on Monday. The Creepy Crawlies had some fun playing with the balloons and balancing them on their heads! 

We then decided to count the balloons we had in our class! We wrote down all the colours and how many were in the bunch! Then we had to count is 2's and we discovered that there were 12 Balloons in a bunch! Then we realised that we had 7 bunches so we found a way to add the numbers that made it easy! We sounded out how to spell the colour words using our alphabet sounds.

We then decided to build a tower with the balloons to see how tall we could make it!

Then we hung them on the wire in the class to make our classroom colourful and we wrote about what we did!
